The Contractor Equipment Technician shall provide logistics support to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasures (WMD) Division in inventory management, inspection, issuance, and collection of government-furnished equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Warehouse visits involving rearrangement, inventory, and marking.
- Interacting with other logistics, warehousing, and shipping offices.
- Working in ILMS, CMMS, or other logistics software programs.
- Working in a team with WMD, DEAV, and other Department personnel as needed.
- Logistics for hazmat packing materials and planning.
- Communicating with overseas posts about logistical issues, such as equipment receiving and return.
- Preparing equipment packages for shipment overseas.
- Function testing and verifying procured equipment.
- Editing and maintaining inventory-related information in large complex spreadsheets or data repositories.
- Sizing and fit testing of personal protective equipment.
- Escorting of non-cleared personnel in designated spaces.
- May be expected to work at WMD (SA-14), DEAV (SA-7), training facility (SA-11), Contractor Warehouses, or other local areas and may act as the onsite representative of the WMD Division regarding equipment and logistical matters.
- Will relay inventory data, minimum reorder quantity status, and issues concerning the quality, serviceability, or inability to fit personnel in issued equipment to the Division.
- Will aid in the streamlining of existing procedures and the review and development of new processes.
- This position may entail travel, up to 10%, both foreign and domestic, at the direction of the government.
Required Qualifications?
- Must have an associate's degree with 5 years of experience or 7 years of experience in logistics, maintenance, testing, or fielding of equipment.
- Physically fit to perform prescribed duties is required.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate small devices and specialized technical equipment.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate orally, as well as in writing.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively at all levels within the DOS and with other federal agencies is required.
- Proficient to Intermediate level computer-use skills are required (i.e., Microsoft Office suite).
- Must be able to complete any required in-person or virtual training to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications.
- The candidate must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license.
- The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, and able to obtain a U.S. passport.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
The following qualifications are desired:
- General knowledge of CBRN/Hazmat operations, equipment and logistics.
- Experience with the State Department’s ILMS and/or CMMS asset management systems.
- Experience conducting government property inventories.
- Experience with large-scale data entry and data table management.
- Experience with the Department of State, U.S. Embassies and Consulates, or overseas U.S. Government operations.
- This is a non-supervisory position.
